Description: Merging Field boundaries

This help article will cover two methods on how to merge two field boundaries that you want to farm as one operational field boundary:

Option 1: Expanding an Existing Block

  1. Merge two boundaries to expand an existing block.

    1. You may choose this method if you will no longer be farming the fields separately and will be farming it as one operational boundary moving forward. This will keep all existing historic records tied to the field but will update the expanded boundary and acreage moving forward.

Option 2: Replacing Multiple Boundaries with a Single Boundary

  1. Replace two or more field boundaries with a single boundary representing the entire area of the new field.

    1. You may choose this method if you want to keep historic records associated with the partial field boundaries and will be farming the fields as one operational boundary moving forward. The new field would have the updated boundary encompassing both fields and acres but would not have historic records tied directly to it.

      1. You would be able to reports on the historic records by reporting on the partial fields as they were farmed in previous seasons.

Steps to Merge Field Boundaries

Export and Re-import your KML file from Agworld

  1. Select the menu button at the top left of your screen.

    1. This is located just to the right of your company name

  2. Click on Export KML.

  3. Once exported, select Import KML.

Importing and Merging Field Boundaries

  1. Select the exported file and drop it into the import page.

  2. Click Next.

  3. On the review page, scroll to the bottom and select Next.

Example: Merging ‘Block 1 East’ and ‘Block 1 West’ to create a new field

  1. Identify the fields to merge (e.g., Block 1 East and Block 1 West).

  2. Enter a new field name (e.g., "Block 1 Whole Field").

  3. Select Create.

  4. Retype the new field name for the second boundary and select Create again.

    1. **Note: Ensure the name is exactly the same for the two boundaries you want to reimport as a new field.

    2. **Note: If you want to import the boundaries to expand an existing field boundary, simply select the same field name from the drop down list for all fields that you want merged to expand the existing field.

  5. Both field boundaries will now be imported into the same field.

  6. Click Import Checked Items.

Finalizing the New Field Boundary

  1. Navigate to the map screen to view the new field boundary.

    1. Under your farm name, locate all three boundaries (e.g., Block 1 East, Block 1 West, and Block 1 Whole Field).

  2. Next, you need to turn off old field boundaries for the new season.

    1. Ensure no activities, field plans, or crops are associated with fields being turned off.

      1. View this article for steps on this process:

    2. Select the three dots (menu) to the right of the farm name

    3. Choose Fields in Use This Season.

    4. Select the checkboxes next to the fields you need to deactivate

    5. Click Done.

Your newly merged field boundary is now set up for the new season.
